WAPOL has introduced a new form, the LSF119 Shooting on Approved Firearm Range Declaration.
We have been told that this form is essential for ensuring the safety and compliance of all PVPC activities on the range.
Why is it necessary? The form is to assist in maintaining accurate records and ensures that all participants meet the new safety and regulatory requirements.
This is now crucial for the ongoing operation of our range so that it remains accessible to the members.
This form is for ANYONE who is unlicensed before they can possess or use a firearm.
For PVPC’s purposes, this form is required for:
- Anyone who is not a licenced PVPC member – so if you are a member but do not have a licence you will need to complete a form
- Juniors who will need to have their parent or guardian fill out a form until they are licenced themselves
- Interstate or international visitors who are using club equipment or loaning equipment from another PVPC member
- All new PVPC Trainees
- Friends or family members may wish to bring to the range for a try
- Anyone who attends a display day, social shoot, sponsors day etc.
We are seeking clarification about whether as a current licence holder of my own firearms, can I use that of another member with their permission? This is still pending, but the verbal feedback is if you are not licenced for a particular firearm, you cannot use it without the form being completed. We will confirm if this is truly the case as soon as we receive a response in writing.
Submission Process:
- The form must be submitted to the Secretary 72 hours prior to attending the range.
- It must be approved and returned before you can invite the listed parties to participate in any shooting activities.
